This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

What you’ll do:

As a key member of Change management, you will:

Work with a great variety of people within the Customer, Delivery, and Tools Engineering team. He or she must have a good understanding of the business needs and goals to help prioritize changes impacting the business’ bottom line. The change manager will work closely with the incident and problem manager to ensure issues hurting the business are prioritized for repair.

Change manager’s Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Review and record requests for change (RFCs)
  • Categorize change requests
  • Prioritize changes according to business objectives
  • Manage the transition of changes from the development team to the operations Convene the change advisory board (CAB) meetings
  • Perform adequate assessments and ensure there are no impairments caused by change effectively assess the change risks and consequences of requested changes
  • Accept or reject RFCs
  • Coordinate the building, testing, and implementation of changes
  • Mediate conflicts related to the change where necessary
  • Create and circulate the change schedule
  • Conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) after the implementation of changes
  • Maintain all change documentation (policies, procedures, templates, etc.)
  • performing quality checks on change records and risk assessments,
  • Manage sub processes within the team which could include highly visible reporting to senior management and change coordinators,
  • Create process standards and controls
  • Will evaluate and/or review queries to extract data for process reporting
  • Updates/writes documentation and procedures and provides related training
  • Works closely with internal service groups in creating change records or other types of support records
  • Analyses performance trends and recommends process improvements
  • Assesses changes for risk to production systems and assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met
  • Establish, document, implement, manage and monitor the Release Management policies and processes.
  • Develop & implement Release Management procedures.
  • Plan and organize a range of acceptance activities to underpin the successful release of the software, hardware, and associated Configuration Items.
  • Coordinate services, implement & monitor Release Plans, produce detailed events timetables, and document action plans.
  • Design and implement standard change procedures for the distribution and installation of patches and other routine tasks.
  • Communicate and manage expectations during the planning and rollout of new Releases.

What you need to bring:

  • Overall 10 to 15 years of experience in Information technology
  • 5+ years experience of working as a Change & Release Manager in an outsourced environment and supplier management against SLAs, monitoring change and release performance against service level agreements, and participating in effective working relationships to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Experience of Change managing applications, end user devices, network infrastructure and services in an ITIL compliant environment.
  • Experience of working in a secure environment.
  • Experience of building strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Project management experience.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Positive can do attitude and flexibility of approach.
  • Professional qualification or equivalent experience in an Information technology related subject and project management.
  • ITILv4 Foundation qualified.
