Applied Materials Israel is home to the Process Diagnostics and Control business unit (PDC), based in Rehovot. We develop, manufacture, and market cutting-edge machine learning and computer vision-based metrology and inspection products essential for wafer fabrication. Our expertise enables our customers to transform possibilities into reality by playing a significant role in producing the next generation of microchips.

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations of Applied Materials Israel. This is a pivotal role requiring a strategic thinker with deep financial expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed global organization.

The CFO will serve as a key member of the Israeli leadership team, partnering closely with local and global stakeholders to drive growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The role reports into corporate finance in the US, requiring excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with Country GM, and executive leadership to drive business performance, deliver on strategic objectives, and provide decision support through rigorous financial analysis.

  • Financial Leadership: Own PDC P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flows. Drive all financial operations in Israel including strategic planning, portfolio prioritization, setting financial targets, risk management, systems implementation, sales negotiations, regulatory compliance, tax support, treasury support, accounting support, F/X planning, policy guidance, audit support, and FP&A - including management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, and ROI analysis.

  • Operational Excellence: Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to setup and enable global operations and planning processes, drive pricing / gross margin improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Systems & Infrastructure: Support planning and execution of physical infrastructure & IT projects to enable R&D, business growth and business continuity plans.

  • Growth Initiatives: Support organic (new product development) and inorganic (Partnerships, Alliances & M&A) programs. Provide financial rigor in product development process and new product introductions. Ensure investments are aligned with long-term strategic growth and profitability commitments and ensure funding is based on observable milestones.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Drive alignment between local business goals and corporate objectives providing timely and transparent reporting to corporate.  Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.

  • Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Lead extended finance team to drive finance operating rhythm and meet all management reporting and corporate requirements. Champion corporate and global finance talent development initiatives.

Key Competencies / Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in a large, complex, global organization in multidisciplinary environments with multiple interfaces across geographies and functions.

  • Proven P&L ownership and business acumen with track record of driving successful financial performance.

  • Capacity for Complexity: Thrive in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and lead with confidence and balanced temperament.

  • Strategic Vision and Agility: anticipate challenges and consequences of decisions, readily identify and seek solutions, and incorporate them into the organizational plan.

  • Team Leadership: experience and proven ability to effectively build organization and staff talent across many cultures/countries by setting priorities, developing a top-notch workforce and ensure the organization runs smoothly.

  • Strong influencing skills across cross-functional teams and executive levels, backed by deep financial expertise.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to distill complex financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences from non-finance to C-level execs.

  • 10% Travel and flexibility to work with teams in different time zones.

  • 15+ years of professional experience showing increasing levels of responsibility in a matrixed, fast paced environment with proven track record of results

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Prefer relevant experience in the semiconductor and/or deep-tech manufacturing field.
