The Opportunity

The position of Certifying Scientist is within our Toxicology Laboratories located at Santa Rosa, CA. This critical role focuses on the review and certification of GC/MS and LC/MS/MS data following instrumental analysis for drugs of abuse. This role will be instrumental in delivering accurate, high-quality, and timely results to our clients.

Shift:
Monday - Friday
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

What You’ll Work On

  • Perform laboratory tests in accordance with laboratory standard procedures.

  • Review and certify forensic toxicology test results.

  • Document calibration and quality control results for forensic test data.

  • Provide assistance, training and support for laboratory technicians.

  • Reorder lab supplies, reagents, or consumables as authorized.

  • Follow all new and revised lab procedures as directed by the Department Manager, General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Lab Director.

  • Perform all other duties as may be requested by the Department Manager, General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Lab Director.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Medical Technology or, related chemical or biological sciences 

  • 1-2 years’ experience within an analytical laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS) data within a toxicology laboratory setting

  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills

  • Must possess strong work ethic with commitment to safety, compliance, and quality

The base pay for this position is

$24.40 – $48.80/hour

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
