Centralized Billing Clerk

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transferring data from various formats into computer files or database systems
• Typing in data provided directly from customers
• Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents
• Update existing data
• Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
• Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
• Other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in transportation billing
• Previous service and billing experience preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to type a minimum of 35-40 correct words per minute
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to follow instructions
• Must be conscience of safety procedures and security

WORK ENVIRONMENT

•  Office-based environment depending on company policy.

•  May require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to meet operational demands.
