What is the opportunity?

Join RBC Bank in Raleigh, NC, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) that provides cross-border banking advice and solutions for Canadians in the U.S., as our new CCAR & Business Reporting Analyst. 

The CCAR & Business Reporting Analyst is a key member of the RBC Bank Finance team responsible for supporting the development, execution, and oversight of RBC Bank’s contribution to the overall Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) submission for RBC in the US.  The role involves financial forecasting under multiple economic scenarios, partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure the integrity of projections, and maintaining rigorous documentation in line with regulatory expectations. The analyst will play a critical role in model execution, controls validation, variance analysis, and delivering well-supported financial schedules for submission to the central aggregations CCAR team.

In addition to forecasting business and financial outcomes, this role will support the design and maintenance of business performance reports and dashboards highlighting key financial, business, operational, and strategic Key Performance Indicators that will be routinely presented to executives and used to influence and inform strategic decision-making. This involves tracking business performance against the annual plan, monthly forecasts, strategic initiatives, and long-term business priorities and other key metrics to drive successful outcomes and business performance.

 What will you do?

  • Support end-to-end development of Balance Sheet and PPNR (Pre-Provision Net Revenue) financial projections under Baseline, Adverse, and Severely Adverse scenarios.

  • Partner with business lines, FP&A, and modeling teams to gather key driver inputs and validate scenario assumptions.

  • Prepare and validate balance sheet and income statement schedules for CCAR submissions.

  • Perform variance analysis between actuals, business plan, and stressed forecasts.

  • Support the development and maintenance of CCAR documentation, including model whitepapers, policies and procedures.

  • Assist with back-testing and model performance evaluation to assess forecast accuracy and calibration.

  • Help implement enhancements to the CCAR forecast process and drive automation and control improvements in model execution.

  • Track and help remediate regulatory and audit findings related to CCAR and stress testing processes.

  • Monitor and interpret macroeconomic indicators relevant to scenario analysis.

  • Create and maintain executive performance reports to track the bank’s key business drivers

  • Produce dashboards to display and visualize the bank’s progress against the annual plan and strategic initiatives

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in capital planning, regulatory reporting, treasury, financial planning & analysis, or a related area.

  • Proficiency in Excel, with ability to manage large datasets and build/maintain financial models.

Nice-to-have

  • 4-6 years of experience in the banking industry

  • Understanding of CCAR, DFAST, and regulatory capital frameworks.

  • Experience with data reporting, ETL tools and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
