Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting patients in the settlement of their account, explaining charges and answering related question.  The cashier also receives and processes accounts receivables, and balances cash, makes financial arrangements with patients.

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay based on experience starting at $16.94

Responsibilities

Aid in the Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) process development, testing, validation and maintaining of the HIPPA 835 Electronic Remit Transaction posting.  Post payments for accounts listed on the ERA exception report & Balance Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) with ERA., Balance all cash received from the bank, cafeteria, window cash drawer, and mail receipts.  Complete the “over the counter cash reconciliation” sheet daily.  Get deposit ready for bank.  Take deposit to bank., Code the “cash receipts journal” with the correct posting account numbers, bill claim form and cycle number., Download payments from online payment source(s) including credit card payments, patient portal (Easy View).  Download electronic remits to assist with accurate posting., Ensures the accuracy of the electronic remit posting by validating adjustments, payments, coinsurance and copay amounts to the correct patient visit number., Explain charges and answers other question regarding balances due.  Explains third party payments.  Assist patients in the settlement of their accounts thru the use of the accounts receivable automated system.  , Post Add/Delete and Adjustment sheets., Post useful notes concerning patient responsibility and secondary insurance claim submission date., Provides Backup coverage in Registration as needed and other duties as assigned., Responsible for payment transactions and providing receipts.   Process mail receipts by coding/posting with the appropriate patients account numbers.  Copies checks received through the window and daily mail.
