Job Purpose
- Lead for the End to End Capital Portfolio. Responsible for organizing annual asset conditional assessments and drafting the Facility Investment Plan.
- Responsible for End-to-End delivery of Site’s Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) budget, in line with GSK Safety, Quality & Compliance standards.
- In addition to managing the CAPEX for site, directly lead end-to-end delivery of Engineering projects. Domains of these projects can range from Sustainable Energy to Operational & Utilities Engineering Upgrades and Construction projects.
- Accountable for maintaining good documentation practices for all projects in line with the Project Management Framework.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelors in Engineering
- 3-5 years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Collaborate with Finance teams, track and ensure site deliver Capex commitments.
- Building staff capability to meet engineering standards
- Sound in Technical and Leadership skills. Strong teamwork, interpersonal, networking and communication skills
- Influencing skills, ability to manage conflict, able to influence upwards to set medium and long term direction for change program and then influence all levels in the plant to achieve targets
- Knowledge of all government and state legislation
- Knowledge and experience of Project Management, Construction Safety requirements & Utilities and budgeting and analytics tools
- Computer use (MS Office, Project Management Tools, CAD drawings)
- Actively collaborate with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, HVAC and Process consultants to ensure smooth execution of Projects within approved budgets and as per approved designs.
- Responsible for ensuring Construction Safety standards are adhered to and Permit-to-Work procedures are enforced and followed.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Planning & Execution
- Ordering of local and imported machine spare parts to ensure timely availability of parts in inventory which can be used in case of machine breakdown.
- Lead, manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale Engineering CAPEX projects and modifications involving cost & material saving in a safe, timely, quality and sustainable manner
- Monitor progress and compile reports in project status. Manage and plan site CAPEX budget and ensure target spend is achieved year-on-year through relevant KPIs and analysis.
- Accountable for maintaining Department wise CAPEX project lists and ensuring that funding approvals are done timely in order to capitalize projects on agreed timelines with the Finance Department.
- Seamless coordination and constant liaison with the Regional Capital Lead for developing, submitting, tracking and upgrading site CAPEX plan.
- Carry out techno-commercial analysis and feasibility studies to draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications, in liaison with consultants
- Assess potential construction safety risks, materials and costs through standard risk management practices.
- Manage, train, develop and mentor staff and effectively liaise with a variety of stakeholders (EHS, Finance, External Consultants, Engineering, Project Contractors) to streamline project execution and closure.
- Develop BOQs, manage budget and purchase materials/ equipment by deploying Total System Cost concept and forecasting material requirement.
Strategic Planning
- Identify and prioritize replacement or upgrade of processes, equipment, and components at site that can deliver high return on investment through continuous improvement by working closely with site teams.
- Provide useful inputs in planning the capacity and forecasting the utilization
- Plan the induction of new maintenance concepts
- Comply with international standards, best industry practices, local laws, guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc.
- Deployment PMF and PSM Playbook.
- Apply new technology as a driving force for process simplification, economical and effective payback times.
Compliance and Procedural Implementations
- Ensure adequate selection, training and development of staff to achieve their maximum potential to meet business objective.
- Ensure that requirements of TP-13 are fulfilled in the concerned area
- Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedure so that engineering activities are operated safely, support production, and comply with Group and Local regulatory requirements
- Manage engineering needs and procurement policies are being met to facilitate the Smooth flow of engineering operations and control.
- Ensure compliance with Global GSK policies and procedures comprising of QIP, GMP, ETCM, TPs, CCM, GES/ES, EHS, GQP and QMS policies.
