As the Capability Development Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of workforce development at Mission Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive Capability Framework that underpins how we grow, support, and empower our people.
In this role, you’ll drive the integration of the framework across key workforce systems and processes, ensuring it is accessible, sustainable, and aligned with our organisational strategy. Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to identify core, functional, and leadership capabilities that drive organisational performance.
Develop and deliver strategic career development, learning, and succession initiatives that build workforce capability and mobility.
Use data and workforce insights to evaluate framework effectiveness, identify emerging capability gaps, and inform continuous improvement.
Champion a learning culture by promoting engagement, wellbeing, and leadership development across the organisation.
Requirements for Success
Proven experience (6+ years) in organisational learning, development, or talent management, including 3–5 years in a senior or strategic role.
Expertise in designing and implementing capability or competency frameworks within large or complex organisations.
Experience integrating frameworks into HRIS systems (such as Workday), Learning Management Systems, or other HR and workforce planning systems.
Strong analytical and strategic skills to use workforce data, identify capability gaps, and measure the impact of initiatives.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to lead change and drive organisational buy-in.
Sound knowledge of learning principles, performance management, workforce planning, and digital learning technologies.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
