The role

The Brisbane Operations team are seeking an enthusiastic Café Assistant to join the team on a full-time basis. As a member of this collaborative team, you will operate as the face of our firm playing a critical role in assisting the day to day operations of the firm's onsite café, while being well presented and providing excellent customer service of internal staff client services.

You will also demonstrate excellence in client service, ensuring seamless delivery of all café requirements as well as ensuring recognised service level standards are consistently met.

Your responsibilities as a Café Assistant

  • Providing a high standard of assistance of the day to day operations of the firm's onsite café food, including coffee service/barista and setting up/clearing for functions in a prompt, professional and friendly manner.
  • The opening and closing of the café, ensuring all is complete for operations.
  • Ensure high quality customer service and presentation of coffee and menu items at all times.
  • Provide a warm, friendly and welcoming style of service to all customers.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner.
  • Daily cleaning of the café and equipment and managing stock levels.
  • Ensure company standards and procedures in relation to personal presentation, food quality and hygiene and safety standards are followed at all times.
  • Other tasks as requested by the Catering Manager or Supervisor.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A food handling certificate
  • 1–2 years' experience in a hospitality environment.
  • A passion for working with people and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Exceptional personal presentation.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard Monday to Friday business hours.
  • Previous experience as a barista and café attendant (essential).
  • The ability to work efficiently and autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding service to clients, partners, and employees.
  • A team-oriented mindset, with the ability to complete tasks to a high standard.
