Job Description

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expedite orders and provide status updates as required
  • Action all MRP driven exception messages
  • Interface with suppliers, engineers, and other departments
  • Analyze and process MRP requirements
  • Request, evaluate, and negotiate quotes/contracts
  • Receive, review, and execute purchase requisitions
  • Process and execute purchase orders in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure procurement specifications, drawings, and supplemental info is properly transmitted to suppliers
  • Coordinate, conduct, and participate in cross functional team meetings to investigate and recommend continuous process improvement, strategic initiatives and cost reduction initiatives
  • Provide reporting to support cost reduction and continuous improvement goals
  • Maintain up to date system records
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies as required
  • Coordinate appropriate implementation of ECO changes that affect procurement
  • Develop forecasts at multiple levels and over varying time horizons through close collaboration with production manager and procurement team
  • Review historical sales trends and provide data to PLM’s to facilitate improved decision making
  • Work with ERP system to develop automated ways to load forecast data and drive all aspects of material while working to improve inventory turns and reducing overall inventory levels
  • Work with procurement and production to ensure material is available to end users in time to meet customer commitments
  • Develop standard delivery times for key products to allow for faster turn around
  • Report forecast variances to production manager
  • Recommend forecast adjustments based on statistical data review
  • Provide lead time and delivery information to sales on non-standard product, using knowledge of all material and resources
  • Working with engineering on phasing in and out of various products with the use of the system
  • Reviewing ECO’s to ensure proper revisions to products are being produced
  • Develop key forecasting processes using the ERP system
  • Valid driver’s license

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree preferred in business or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in planning or purchasing; interfacing with suppliers, expediting of parts
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results

  • Ability to work with changing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer Experience required including a working knowledge of MSOffice programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude
  • Experience with ERP systems;
  • Familiarity with software programs used on the job (carrier: FedEx, UPS, and DHL), preferred
  • Experience in material control within an electronics manufacturing environment, preferred

  • None

Training Requirements:

  • IFS training
  • HSE/Quality Overview
  • Certification of handling and shipping of Lithium batteries, required
  • Teledyne Ethics/Harassment
  • Hazardous Communications

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • In accordance with Teledyne Marine Systems safety policies
  • Hard Hats required in designated areas
  • The use of Safety Glasses is required throughout all production areas of the facility
  • Safety shoes as required per TMS policy
