Shipping & Receiving Technician

 

What this job involves:

 

The Shipping & Receiving Technician reports to the Dock & Warehouse Manager and will be an integral part of the JLL Team supporting scientific and facilities operations in a dynamic environment!  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, shipping and receiving, mail services, ordering consumables/supplies, lab logistics and moves, chemical and gas delivery. Liaise with client researchers and support personnel to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction and support to enable client scientific operations.

 

What your day-to-day will look like:

·        Proactively implementing client standard processes and procedures, ensuring superior customer satisfaction, sustaining a safe work environment, and demonstrating productivity

·        Manage loading dock activities, receive all parcels, and deliver to end users

·        Maintain received items in tracking system as appropriate

·        Maintain archive of all shipment documentation

·        Manage inventory of shipping and mailroom materials

·        Maintain high level of organization and cleanliness of shipping room at all times

·        Movement of materials between shipping room and storage areas

·        Receive and deliver lab gases

·        Proactively obtain quotes and purchase orders from vendors for supplies

·        Initiate, track, and complete shipments with specialty couriers as needed

·        Perform sorting and delivery of USPS mail

·        Assist with carrying out site office and equipment moves via work orders

·        Complete required comprehensive training in corporate, site specific, and departmental procedures

·        Assure that the necessary safety equipment and personal protective equipment is available and utilized

·        Any other duties and tasks assigned

 

Required Qualifications:

·        1+ year experience in shipping and receiving, mailroom, or similar environment

·        High school diploma or equivalent

·        Ability to multitask and provide flexibility to the client

·        Demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detail

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships

·        Effective use of technology and tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel

 

Physical Qualifications:

·        Physical capabilities to lift 50 lbs

·        Knowledgeable and capable of working with handling tools

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        IATA and DOT certification

·        Previous experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology facilities

·        Experience supporting facilities with laboratories, clean rooms and supporting systems

 

Work Schedule:

First Shift, Monday through Friday with flexible start time. Some weekends required. On-call availability for overnight emergency response.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

58,240.00 – 64,480.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.

On-site –South San Francisco, CA
