We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically skilled individual to join our Rating Team as a Business Rates Audit Manager. This role involves researching and analysing business rates data to identify opportunities for clients, while also contributing to business development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the UK business rates system, strong Excel skills, and experience working with complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct online research to gather information on businesses and their property portfolios
- Analyse business rates data using Microsoft Excel and relevant systems (e.g. Analyse, RatesData)
- Interpret data from the Valuation Office Agency and other sources to identify potential savings or opportunities
- Make clear, evidence-based recommendations based on research findings
- Support business development by securing new audit instructions and building client relationships
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in business rates, ideally within an audit or advisory capacity
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with mail merges is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Professional, flexible approach to work and problem-solving
