The Operations Lead, reporting to the Head of RDT AI unit, is a pivotal member of the RDT AI leadership team. This role is instrumental in influencing strategy, driving innovation, and fostering collaboration across direct and dotted-line reports, peers, and stakeholders to optimize business outcomes. The successful candidate will effectively oversee daily operations, maximizing efficiency and productivity through resource management, process optimization, and the development of strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include managing budgets and coordinating various activities across RDT to ensure the objectives of RDT AI are met on time and within budget, guarantee seamless execution of RDT’s strategy, and cultivate cross-organizational collaboration.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and drive the RDT AI operations strategy, roadmap, and budget in close partnership with the Head of RDT AI unit and other senior leaders. Identify opportunities and strategic topics of interest to the RDT Head of the RDT AI unit. Manage the overall operational communication of the department together with the communications experts.
Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the RDT AI department. Provide coordination on presentations and cross-functional projects (e.g. organizational updates for the RDT LT or across Head of RDT AI management meetings). Structure and manage initiatives sponsored by the Head of RDT AI department. Define performance metrics to help manage day to day activities. Support the overall smooth execution and run for this function.
Budget & Resource Management: In close cooperation with the assigned Financial Enterprise Partner directly manage the department's budget and support resource management. Keep track of planned vs actual cost for projects. Ensure effective management of vendors and contracts to support departmental goals together with the Vendor Management department.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Operational Excellence team, the RDT Strategy, Portfolio, and Governance group, and other Operations Leads in RDT. Ensure that outputs from these groups are effectively broken down into actionable, day-to-day work for the RDT AI department. Drive and facilitate cross-functional alignment across the different departments within RDT.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Gather and interpret large amounts of information (online, internal, external), and present it in a concise, accurate and relevant manner to support decision-making within the RDT AI department.
This leader will liaise closely with the RDT “Strategy, Governance and Portfolio” and “Operations Excellence” functions
Strategic & Business Acumen: Ability to define and articulate a long-term operations strategy for the RDT AI unit that aligns with overarching business goals, based on a deep understanding of the unit's core challenges and the ability to manage it as an efficient business unit.
Operational Excellence & Execution: Proven track record of managing complex digital technology operations around AI, driving efficiency, and overseeing a portfolio of cross-functional projects (with Agile or related project management methodologies ) to establish high-performing teams.
Influential Leadership & Change Management: Demonstrates strong influential leadership to guide teams through organizational change, driving the adoption of new processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management & Communication: Exceptional ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating executive presence and the ability to translate operational data into clear business insights. Collaborates effectively with finance, legal, procurement, and other corporate functions.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Applies strong, pragmatic, and analytical troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
Resource Management: Experience overseeing resources for mid-sized operations, including budgets, forecasting, and contract negotiation.
Professional Experience: A background in a similar operational role within a digital technology function of a multinational company is a strong advantage.
