Business Manager COO Finance

COO Finance (COOF) is an independent unit reporting into ING’s CFO and COO. It is accountable for executing ING Finance and COO strategy to evolve towards one global digital bank. The COOF mission is to enable excellence in Finance with real time business insights, derived from state of the art technologies, optimal use of data and highly effective operations.

Roles and responsibilities

As business manager you directly report into the Global Head COO Finance and will work closely together with the leadership team of COO Finance. Your role involves business management tasks,  supporting the COO Finance leadership team by contributing towards the COO Finance strategy development and implementation. You are part of -and accountable for- the preparation and organization of MT meetings of COO Finance. You are a sounding board to the global head COO Finance and the leadership team, and manage inter or intra department communication.

You work alongside the LT and their organization to provide support in the following areas:

  • Support the Global Head COOF and MT-members in any daily, weekly or monthly recurring activities, like preparation of the MT, creation of presentations, communication.
  • Support any activities related to the COOF strategy, MT meetings and offsites, townhalls etc
  • Develop and drive the execution of effective internal communications.
  • Ensure OHI improvement plans and strategic people topics/priorities are addressed, as well as driving the execution
  • Act as linking pin and responsible for relationships with other business and support functions, with a focus on Procurement/Housing/HR/OHI/People/communication topics
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation, innovation, and the organizational effectiveness of COO Finance and its management processes.
  • Support Global Head COOF with a variety of business management support activities, that can vary from day to day and ad-hoc requests coming up all the time
  • Deliver small project workstreams, carrying out specified project activities within defined time and quality parameters.

As Business Manager you will also need to be:

  • An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent in problem-solving, with a strong attention to detail and you translate complex matters into simple terms;
  • High effective in planning and organization, and consistently achieve results and meet commitments;
  • Experienced and highly effective in delivering clear, concise and compelling presentations;
  • Able to work independently on various projects and activities at the same time, often under pressure, and able to prioritize your time accordingly;
  • Resilient and able to rebound from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations;
  • Able to instill trust with the COOF MT;
  • Preferably experienced in a business management role at ING.
