We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to drive our new business engine, moving opportunities forward, shaping compelling stories and coordinating high-quality pitches and campaigns.
The role
You’ll own the day-to-day pipeline, manage proposals and RFPs, and ensure every interaction with prospects is timely, relevant and well-crafted. Working closely with Strategy and Marketing, you’ll help shape how Great State shows up in the market, through messaging, campaigns and structured nurture programmes. You’ll also cultivate our partner network and support outbound activity to generate qualified opportunities.
You’ll report to a Joint Managing Director and sit at the heart of our growth strategy.
What you’ll be doing
Pipeline momentum
- Maintain an accurate, active CRM and pipeline.
- Prioritise high-fit opportunities and highlight risks early.
- Provide clear reporting and insights for leadership.
Pitching & proposals
- Coordinate proposals, pitches and RFP responses end-to-end.
- Keep case studies, creds and assets sharp and up to date.
- Ensure materials and delivery are compelling and strategically aligned.
Prospect development
- Lead structured nurture programmes across priority sectors.
- Tailor outreach based on insight and engagement data.
- Ensure warm relationships stay warm.
Partner & outbound management
- Grow relationships with technical and referral partners.
- Coordinate joint marketing efforts and track outcomes.
- Manage workflows with the outbound agency and ensure quality.
Campaign delivery
- Plan and run new business campaigns with Strategy and Marketing.
- Coordinate messaging, content and timelines.
- Track effectiveness and recommend improvements.
About you
- 5+ years in the digital industry with experience in new business or client services.
- Proven strength in pitching, shaping commercial narratives and producing persuasive materials.
- Skilled in CRM, pipeline management and using data to prioritise.
- Confident communicator with strong writing and presentation skills.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working at pace.
- Collaborative, proactive and curious about industry trends and opportunities.
