Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services (BGS), is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to join our Mission Products and Services (MPS) team. This role is pivotal in driving growth and expanding our market for custom software development services. Our MPS business is focused on serving as a trusted partner to our warfighter customers, providing exceptional software products and services to U.S. and foreign military defense organizations.  We support next-generation mission planning across multiple platforms including the F-22, F-15, F-18, MQ-25, and Tomahawk Cruise Missile.  We also have a long legacy advancing the DoD’s cornerstone logistics and command & control applications, as well as the market-leading maintenance, repair and overhaul software solution.  This position is ideal for someone excited by the world of military aviation and logistics, and the challenge of helping the U.S. and its allies advance their mission planning and command & control capabilities.  In this role you will be a key player in shaping the growth strategy of Tapestry and leading the efforts to realize the growth plans. We are located primarily in St. Louis, Missouri, San Diego, California and San Luis Obispo, California. This position is fully remote (virtual) with moderate travel to support capture and partnership activities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Rebuild and enhance the growth pipeline by identifying new business opportunities and fostering relationships with key stakeholders within the Department of Defense and related sectors
  • Lead the business development and capture team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to achieve strategic objectives
  • Actively engage in capture management processes, including proposal development, strategy formulation, and execution to secure new contracts and projects
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for growth within the defense sector
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to promote Tapestry's capabilities and services
  • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and marketing, to align business development efforts with organizational goals and customer needs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of Business Development experience including pipeline development and leading capture on competitive US Government procurements
  • 5+ years of Management experience in a Sales and Marketing role
  • Strong understanding of the Department of Defense procurement process and requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with US Government representatives at all levels, including General Officers and Senior Executive Service members 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced resource-constrained environment
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10 years working with the US Department of Defense customer
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) certification in program management, logistics, or acquisitions
  • Experience with sales and marketing of commercial products and/or services

Summary base pay range $152,000 - $195,000
