Join Bupa at New Victoria Hospital as our Business Development Director—a strategic leadership role driving commercial growth, innovation, and outstanding patient experiences. As part of the Executive Team, you’ll lead commercial initiatives, build key relationships, and champion transformation in a hospital dedicated to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy & Growth: develop and deliver the hospital’s commercial strategy, aligned with Bupa’s wider vision. Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and income streams. Oversee market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
  • Consultant & Referrer Engagement: build strong relationships with consultants, GPs, referrers, brokers, and insurers. Lead consultant recruitment and engagement, including networking and educational events.
  • Service & Pathway Development: launch and optimise clinical pathways, drive digital innovation (including AI), and champion continuous improvement.
  • Marketing & Communications: lead local marketing strategy, manage agency contracts, and oversee external communications in partnership with Bupa’s central press team.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: motivate and develop the commercial team, foster a culture of commercial excellence, and represent the commercial voice at executive level.
  • Governance & Compliance: ensure all commercial activities comply with regulatory frameworks and hospital policies. Monitor and manage commercial risks.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in business development and commercial growth, ideally in healthcare or a regulated environment (Essential)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in consultant engagement or relationship management.
  • Strategic thinker with commercial acumen.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Analytical, adaptable, and resilient—especially in digital transformation and AI.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative, positive approach.
  • Commitment to the vision and values of New Victoria Hospital and Bupa.

Flexibility & Commitment
