Salary:
$4,617.67 - $7,916.66 per month commensurate with experience.
Job Description Summary:
The Business Administrator Ill, working under general supervision, manages a comprehensive range of business activities for multiple units, including but not limited to, the review and approval of documents related to invoicing, purchasing, as well as managing various financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Manages a comprehensive range of business activities for multiple units, including but not limited to, the review and approval of documents related to invoicing, purchasing, and travel as well as managing various financial transactions.
- Centralized creation, review and submission of requisitions and invoices on behalf of multiple units; may serve as an approver and back-up signer of invoice vouchers and purchase requisitions.
- Centralized review and submission of travel-related expense reports and supporting documentation for multiple units.
- Serves as backup for the review of new award setups by Texas A&M University Sponsored Research Services (SRS) for accurate indirect cost allocation, account and lead member.
- Assists with managing financial transactions, including assigning costs to appropriate accounts and projects and processing of payroll correction transfers.
- Manages System-wide Maestro access requests and Pl eligibility approvals and serves as the Research Administration Office liaison with Maestro staff.
- Backup for preparation of industry research proposal budget development.
- Coordinates Human Resource functions such as hiring, on boarding, payroll, leave tracking, evaluations, and personnel actions.
- Serves as liaison between department and Human Resources.
- Ensures compliance with university and federal policies and employment regulations.
- Proposes strategic goals for the Research Administration Office. Assists in the oversight and implementation of priorities and standards for achieving strategic goals.
- Conducts continuous review of business processes, evaluating procedure effectiveness, identifying areas needing process improvements and making recommendations to the Director, Research Administration. Manages maintenance of associated business files.
- Participates in professional development activities to remain current with relevant Texas A&M University System, State and Federal guidelines and regulations and to implement best business practices for the Research Administration office, reporting and other requirements.
- Interpret Texas A&M University System policies and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven years of related experience in general office, accounting and personnel operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, proofreading and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
- Knowledge and experience at a university.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Maestro, FAMIS, AggieBuy and Emburse.
