Class A Bulk Driver

The primary purpose of this position is the safe delivery of bulk and/or packaged products to Hydrite customers. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform proper DOT required Pre and post trip inspections daily, report items requiring repair to the Transportation Manager.  Keep unit clean and orderly.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and in compliance with all the required licenses and permits to operate bulk and van units.
  • Safely drive CMV and deliver products to Hydrite customers.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all Hydrite work and safety rules, procedures, motor carrier (DOT) safety regulations and weight laws/restrictions.
  • Deliver materials as assigned, review shipping documents to ensure that the correct product is delivered and that any special instructions are followed.
  • Remain with the unit while product is being unloaded or loaded.
  • Complete required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work hours and back up other employees as directed.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times, and treat other employees and customers with courtesy and respect.
  • All staff members are responsible for reporting food safety problems to their supervisor or the SQF Practitioner upon observation of a known or potential issue.
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOP’s and all other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required.  Review changes/additions with your supervisor.  Must be RCRA compliant

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Transportation Manager.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to operate tractor/trailer combination, drive a bulk tanker or a 53’ van to make deliveries.
  • Have basic mechanical ability.
  • Must possess valid Class A CDL with the proper hazmat and tanker endorsements; have a current DOT physical certification.
  • Must have / maintain a satisfactory MVR.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to start work as early as necessary and work up 16 hours per day.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
