As a Building Automation Systems Technician II, you will increase the efficiency and performance of air handling units (AHU), chillers, cooling towers and pumps.

A caregiver in this position works, Monday – Friday 2:30pm – 11am, with the ability to travel locally in Northeast Ohio as needed.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

  • Inspect, maintain, and calibrate all temperature, humidity and recording devices including meters and gauges. 

  • Read, write, modify, and maintain automated building software and hardware for designated systems. 

  • Maintain inventory and records for sensor and control devices related to digital and pneumatic systems. 

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and advise on system malfunctions and operational requirements.  

  • Ensure safe and effective operations and working environment.  

  • Respond to alarms, sensors, and alerts appropriately.  

  • Work may occasionally be assigned across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working within one or more of the following areas: pneumatic systems, installation, maintenance or repair of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, ITD, or other related field 

  • Working knowledge of DDC systems, control theory, piping, blueprints and electrical circuits and schematics

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders.

  • Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery.

  • Typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.

  • Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
