Role summary:

This role will oversee the end to end from forecasting to actuals reporting for the BU and will partner with BU FD to drive the business goals and strategy of the segment and serve as the gatekeeper of BU’s financials. The role will also work with the global corporate teams (Group Controller, Consolidation/Financial Planning, GPO, Tax, Treasury, etc) to drive overall finance strategy for Haleon. Lastly, the role will head a team of planners, controllers, analysts as well as BPO’s in order to drive end to end support for markets within the BU.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Translate Global Finance strategies to set clear direction and inspire teams. Define initiatives and activities that will allow Finance and Haleon to deliver its ambition.

  • Own and deliver detailed budgets that define and coordinate major transformation and initiatives for finance for the BU.  Assume an active decision-making role to ensure that financial results are optimized in accordance with ethical and company standards.

  • Lead the development and management of business process, performance, and financial controls. Ensure that financial controls/stewardship delivered are in accordance with current legislation/standards/quality.

  • Develop a deep knowledge of business fundamentals, including the economic, commercial and regulatory environment, with attention to customer and competitor dynamics. Ensure accurate, timely reporting and analysis of financial results for the BU both for management and statutory purposes.

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization. Partner with the BU General Manager/BU FD and the BU leadership team to contribute to the management and growth of the business and act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Key Stakeholders.

  • Lead different segment teams while sustaining high quality standards across different business units in a complex organizational structure.  Be responsible for recruitment and training, stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement across the teams.  Promote assignment planning and diversity of experiences in the finance organization.

Business Expertise:

  • Over 15 yrs of experience with finance processes, accounting standards, analysis and associated technology platforms

  • Experience working in a commercial Market/ commercial forecasts; Operational experience in Financial Planning, Reporting and Forecasting

  • Experience working on a transformation or Global Process initiative

  • Experience managing complex organizations with broad management interaction across a matrix environment

  • People management and team leadership skills; Skilled in coaching and managing teams.

  • Ability to influence key stakeholders in a complex, multi-cultural environment; Experience working in a matrix environment.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Problem Solving : The role is involved frequently in cross matrix/function collaboration and complex decision making/issue resolutions such as:

  • Structural changes and evolution of the team and entities as the business evolves.

  • Delivering accurate and timely financial results including agreeing and accounting for complex transactions or major process change

  • Involvement in complex deals such as M&A, divestment, entity rationalization, treasury and tax strategies, innovations, etc.

  • Supporting the business in complex decision making through data and numbers. Agility in resolving various issues as the SPOC for key stakeholders.

Nature & Area of Impact : The role is critical to the business and Haleon:

  • End to end view and stewardship for financials of the BU from forecasting to actuals reporting working hand in hand with the BU. It is vital to Haleon’s internal and external reporting.

  • Oversees the controls and compliance across financials which is key to Haleon’s reputation, credibility and going concern.

  • Collaborates cross-functionally and serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for key stakeholders in the business. Drives- the operational functionality of finance services across Haleon.

Interactions / Interpersonal Skills : The role interacts with Senior Stakeholders both internally and externally such as:

  • FLT

  • Global Heads and teams for Finance and outside finance

  • Segment/BU General Managers and Segment/BU Leadership teams

  • Global and local Auditors

  • Region/Local Regulatory/External Teams (eg tax authorities, local government investment/survey bodies, etc.
