Position Summary
This job is ideal for those who want to combine their excitement for sporting and live events with broadcast and network A/V engineering. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a group of close-knit, passionate and talented teammates that produce digital content out of production studios for the Atlanta Falcons (Ticketmaster Studio) and Atlanta United FC (Emory Healthcare Studio). This position will also support events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium as needed, which includes the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl LXII, College Football Playoff and more.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and independent worker with a deep understanding of broadcast engineering, including IP workflows. This role requires the ability to stay calm and collected in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
This role will be shared between two office locations (Flowery Branch and Marietta). Please note that travel between these locations is expected and mileage reimbursement will not be provided. Must be able to carry a cell phone, have a valid driver’s license, and respond quickly to occasional requests for critical assistance. Working productions and events at team facilities and Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be required, which includes a variety of weekends, holidays and days/nights. Travel to AMBSE locations (Atlanta Falcons Practice Facility, Atlanta United Training Grounds, Mercedes-Benz Stadium) will be required.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Maintain and support all broadcast and network A/V equipment and systems at Ticketmaster Studio at the Atlanta Falcons Practice Facility, Emory Healthcare Studio at Atlanta United Training Grounds and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
• Collaborate with studio and stadium production teams to design and implement broadcast solutions for events.
• Work with outside vendors in periodic repair, maintenance, and operation of broadcast and A/V equipment and systems.
• Manage and troubleshoot baseband and IP workflows.
• Oversee and schedule event-day staff and contractors.
• Aid Broadcast and A/V Department in supporting, installing and maintaining A/V and broadcast systems.
• Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize interruption and downtime.
• Document and maintain inventory of broadcast and A/V equipment – log technical issues and resolutions.
• Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to aid and continuously improve broadcast and A/V operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Proven experience as a Broadcast Engineer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of broadcast systems including routers, cameras, comms and switchers including Ross, Evertz, RTS, Sony, Grass Valley and Riedel.
• Strong understanding of baseband and IP workflows.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sports/broadcast/news field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in area.
