Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Taking direction from and balancing the needs of Biomed Team Leaders and Account Manager to support the contract and meet KPI’s.
  • Carry out Preventative and corrective maintenance on medical equipment as per manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Complete all relevant administrative tasks while maintaining and improving data quality into CMS tool.
  • Maintain daily communications with customers as directed, to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction. As instructed, implement GE/customer facility contract, supporting business goals and objectives.   
  • Assist wider team where needed to meet local or global goals.
  • Comply with GE leadership behaviours.
  • Take ownership within workshop and comply with local H&S regulations.
  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

Required Characteristics:

  • You should have a strong interest in technology and an ambition for a future career in medical equipment Service.
  • You should be a problem-solver by nature, able to think logically to successfully troubleshoot unfamiliar problems.
  • You should be able to demonstrate manual dexterity and fine motor skills, with the ability to take things apart and put them back together again correctly.
  • You should have great written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate bad news in the right way, to build great relationships with your customers (hospital staff).
  • You will have the benefit of a mentor to guide you, but you must have the natural common sense be able to take good, timely decisions to maintain the safety of yourselves, your colleagues, customers, and patients when required.
  • You must be willing, on occasion, to among different sites for training and assisting wider team.
  • You need to be organized and self-motivated, as you will be responsible for managing your own diary to attend on-the-job training, complete admin tasks, study, and online training in a timely manner.
  • High standards, attention to detail and a commitment to quality are a must-have in this highly-regulated medical equipment industry where you will be learning to service and repair life-saving medical devices.
  • You should have basic IT literacy.
  • Candidates with advanced IT skills, fresh graduates in Electronics or Biomedical engineering will be viewed favorably.
