Role Summary


This role provides direction, expertise, and support to business units on benefits program functions. Applies, interprets, and consults on benefits programs at Vanguard, carrying out processes and policies as directed. This role also focuses on benefits program design, management, and analysis, including evaluating coverage, benchmarking costs, managing vendor relationships, and providing guidance on benefit plans and options.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver benefits policies and guidelines in line with the global enterprise strategy. Serve as an inquiry escalation point for benefits-related inquiries. Process data collection and input for the global benefits database.
  • Participate in and manage department-level projects of moderate to high complexity. Partner with legal, risk, and finance partners to ensure regulatory and statutory compliance related to benefits. Process benefits transactions and requests and comply information regarding transaction data, benefit budgets, and final costs for financial analysis reports.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on selected business changes with benefits implications. Assist in the evaluation and refining of benefits processes. Participate in the implementation of new or enhanced benefits programs.
  • Provide consultation to the business and Human Resources leadership on global benefits issues. Consult on benefits-related issues and partners with various stakeholders to resolve or improve benefits programs.
  • Conduct evaluations on specific benefit plan market competitiveness globally and develop detailed plans to address gaps as needed based on consultation with key stakeholders. Perform trend analysis and conduct industry best practices research to support enterprise decision-making.
  • Implement communication programs and training on self-service access to increase benefits program transparency and accessibility. Communicate with benefits vendors, support the vendor selection and contract process, and initiate updates to the vendor service level agreement.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of benefit practices for multiple industries. Surface trends, change in employment law, regulatory matters, or compliance requirements, and other factors that impact the design and implementation of benefit programs.
  • Design and manage comprehensive employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement, life insurance, disability coverage, and related offerings, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and employee needs.
  • Conduct benchmarking and cost analysis to evaluate benefits coverage and competitiveness within the market, identifying areas for improvement or redesign.
  • Provide guidance and communication to employees and management on benefit plan features, policies, and available options to enhance understanding and engagement.
  • Collaborate with insurance brokers, pension consultants, and external advisors to review, negotiate, and implement effective benefits solutions that balance cost efficiency with employee satisfaction.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in benefits administration, design, or analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BBA/B.Com/B.A. in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Strong expertise in benefits program design, benchmarking, cost analysis, vendor management, compliance, and communication, with the ability to align programs to global HR and business objectives.
