This is a full-time remote position. Work schedule is Monday- Friday with an 8-hour dayshift during business hours.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The EAP Consultative Advisor is responsible for driving operational performance and strategic execution for Cigna’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clients. This role partners with Sales and Account Management and provides consultative support for behavioral health products and services, collaborating with Behavioral Health service operations and decision-makers to address client needs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative guidance to Sales and Account Management during all stages of a client lifecycle including proposal reviews, finalist presentations, pre-client engagement, implementation, ongoing account support, issue resolution, utilization analysis, renewals and terminations.

  • Advise and offer expertise in Cigna’s EAP by assisting account management and clients on topics such as specialized services for behavioral conditions (e.g., autism, substance use, children and families) and provide guidance and input on integration into their overall emotional wellbeing strategies.

  • Curate communication and engagement strategies for all account teams to support client promotional and awareness initiatives, including in-person meetings and promotional events.

  • Collaborate with and effectively leverage Cigna business units (e.g., product, underwriting and pre-sale) to drive account growth, retention and deliver on client expectations.

  • Ability to effectively lead and execute targeted training and office hours for Behavioral Product

  • Develop and maintain a ‘Trusted Partner’ relationship with Account Management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years’ experience in account management focused on mental health, EAP, or healthcare insurance.

  • Life and Health Insurance License preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

  • Extensive knowledge of EAP products, underwriting principles, risk and financial analysis, marketing, sales, account management, and administrative operations.

  • Expert knowledge of Cigna’s products, capabilities, and value proposition.

  • Competitor awareness and ability to articulate Cigna’s strengths and weaknesses.

  • Understanding of competitor landscape and sales processes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication; confident presenter and independent worker.

  • Clear, timely and adaptable communication styles suit different audiences.

  • Demonstrated skills in communication, supporting sales and account management in development of strategy for obtaining new business and maintaining existing clients, planning, and organization.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and show leadership in a matrixed environment.

  • Effective client collaboration to optimize account performance and drive participation.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 80,900 - 134,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
