Role Description

This role is specifically within the Legal CIO sub-domain for the DExTR programme. The DExTR is an Enterprise Contract Management system to support the legal department in negotiating, drafting, managing and storing their body of contracts. The project objective is to Streamline the creation and amendments of legal documents and Automate contract generation, enrich metadata and enforce data quality through simple Document Assembly technology and Integrate negotiation workflow, document assembly and document automation with standard desktop applications (MS Word, MS Outlook) to enhance the user experience, and streamline user adoption of the application.

Your key responsibilities

  • Collect and define business requirements in cooperation and in association with the business area
  • Understand the business flows, interview end users and write business requirements documents.
  • Challenge the requirements where needed, explain these requirements to the functional analysts and quality assurance / development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with functional analysts, developers, vendors and application owners as the business / functional counterpart in solution identification and estimations.
  • Support creation of business cases outlining cost impacts and value drivers of proposed solutions.
  • Run workshops, facilitate stakeholder engagement and build relationships and purposeful networks working collaboratively using a wide range of tools.
  • Manage user acceptance testing and test case coordination with the business.
  • Ensure that end users and support teams are correctly trained to use solutions being delivered by the project.
  • Support application services teams in functional test case generation and test result validation.
  • Supports the providing of signoffs for business requirements.
  • Support implementation team and solve post go-live issues.

Your skills and experience

  • 5+  years of prior experience as a Business Analyst in an investment banking organisation, with at least 3 years in legal-IT functions.
  • Fluency in English (written/verbal).
  • Experience managing teams in global IT change projects and varying project / programme environments (waterfall, scrum/agile, etc.)
  • Experience working with business requirements through to system level Functional Specifications.
  • Experience in business analysis, data analytics or UX (user experience).
  • Experience owning product backlogs, sprint planning and driving release content throughout via prioritised stories.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving experience and ability to independently identify issues grasp new concepts, provide insights and solutions and oversee their delivery.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and highly organised with ability to prioritise key deliverables across several work streams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation / presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of methods and tooling for the Business Functional Analysis Profession.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Broad knowledge of related business solutions in the marketplace.
  • Experience in collaborating with stakeholders to elicit requirements, document, and translate business needs into detailed BRDs, FRDs, and the user stories for systems and workflows
  • Hand-on experience in developing and presenting UML diagrams to model workflows, system interactions, and business processes.
  • Experience in analysing complex datasets using tools like SQL, Excel, or python to identify trends, validate data accuracy, and support decision making.
  • Deep understanding of trading, settlements, risk managements and compliance process, including equities, derivatives, and fixed income.
  • Strong understanding of Legal and Regulatory requirements such as GDPR, SOX, or MiFID II, Basel 3
  • Familiarity with Legal technology solutions and regulatory compliance tools used in Legal Operations
  • Knowledge and experience in the usage of modern SDLC tools JAMA, Jira, HP ALM
  • Preferable: Knowledge of Derivatives Asset class , Legal Contracts Negotiation , Netting Process , Trade Life Cycle , Client Reference data , Clearing and Settlement of Derivatives 
  • Degree from an accredited college or university with a preference for Computer Science (or IT related).
  • Business Analysis certification (and/or relevant work experience).
