AVP, Pharma and Pulmonary Hypertension BU Lead in Japan
Join our company as Executive Officer, Associate Vice President of the Pharma and Pulmonary Hypertension Business Unit and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare.

Overall responsibilities are to:

  • Lead an organization of more than 1,200 employees and manage a $1.4 Billion P&L to drive business performance and to deliver patient impact with our innovative portfolio of Pharmaceutical and Pulmonary Hypertension products
  • Translate our strategic priorities to action plans for both individual employees and organizational partners to optimize executional excellence
  • Leverage a customer-centric approach to develop strategies and solutions that allow us to create and capture value for our comprehensive Pulmonary Hypertension, Primary Care, and Specialty Care pipeline.
  • Provide commercial leadership as a member of Japan Executive Team and input on health authority interactions, regulatory filing strategy, launch readiness reviews, key customer management, and thought leader engagement.
  • Leverage data to understand market dynamics, performance, forecast and develop a longterm vision and strategy for the Pharma and Pulmonary Hypertension Business Unit.
  • Translate business strategies to operational plans and oversee a Sales organization of over 1,000 medical representatives
  • Achieve targets by prioritizing strong financial performance and successfully delivering on operational commitments, including top-line revenue growth, market share improvement, and increased profits.
  • As an Executive Officer and member of the Japan Executive Team, contribute the enterprise wide corporate governance and strategy


WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To be successful in this role, you will also have:

  • 15+ years of experience, with strong general management capabilities that includes leading a P&L. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
  • Significant understanding of complex and sophisticated markets and external environments.
  • Strategic capability to continue the shape market access, develop the market, and strengthen the approach to disease management in the market.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, with the ability to appreciate the constraints and opportunities available in an increasingly compliance-driven environment.
  • Ability to lead new launches in speciality and primary care therapeutic areas
  • Results-oriented, with a track record of delivering against targets
  • Ability to inspire others and lead high-energy teams and instil a culture of collaboration,which is particularly critical in an environment where a strong focus on agility, and “making the complex simple” approach is necessary for successful execution.
  • Persuasive communication skills with internal stakeholders including global senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence, leadership and influencing skills
  • Develop and coach teams to strengthen capabilities and develop future talent
  • Awareness of the importance of an ‘enterprise mindset’ and how to lead and influence across the cross functional enterprise in Japan.
  • A genuine interest in advocating for inclusive culture embracing safe to speak environment as a core and central feature of all policies and practices.
