About the role
The Investor Relations (IR) team is an engaging and important area for Sun Life, responsible for developing and executing Sun Life’s communication strategy with institutional investors and sell-side analysts. The team is regularly connected across Sun Life’s global businesses seeking insights and successes to highlight to the investor community. Through this, there is an incredible opportunity to learn about the different Business Groups operating in Sun Life and gain exposure to senior executives and external stakeholders. This role reports to the SVP, Capital Management and Investor Relations.
What you'll be doing
Participate in the development and execution of Sun Life's external communication strategy, including preparation for the release of quarterly financial results, investor days, investor conferences, road shows, education seminars, and on-going interactions with senior executives and the investment community
Work closely with Sun Life’s strategy, finance, communications and operational teams, to develop and execute on the IR strategy focusing on drivers of shareholder value. Provide necessary information for sell side analysts to accurately model and forecast company performance.
Ongoing analysis of financial reports and valuation metrics across the insurance and asset management industries.
Drive the development of strategic insights enabling management decision making, leveraging competitive analyses and peer benchmarking; this includes understanding the drivers of performance and macro-economic forces impacting the company’s results.
Monitor and consolidate stakeholder feedback and investor sentiment on a regular basis, including review and analysis of company, competitor and industry equity research.
Lead and partner with internal and external stakeholders on Investor Day/ Education briefings, including cross-functional collaboration to develop consistent messaging about company performance and outlook.
Ensure compliance with regulatory disclosure requirements.
Provide direct support to the President & CEO and the EVP and CFO
Tailor presentations and communication materials based on audience and situation to facilitate productive discussions, foster buy-in, and establish productive working relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
Strong financial and business acumen, strategic thinking and curiosity, and experience with financial markets
Strong understanding of insurance and asset management accounting/reporting, including ability to interpret results
Excellent collaboration and relationship management skills, ensuring strong partnerships with both Business Groups and Functional areas across the company.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
