In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our Quality division is currently hiring for an Auditor in the Independent Oversight department. 

As an integral part of the Quality organization, the Independent Oversight department is responsible for ensuring that it promotes safe and efficient operation of Bruce Power’s business by conducting independent assessments on behalf of top management to confirm that the Bruce Power Management System (BPMS) meets the regulatory, legal, and statutory requirements and its effective implementation.

As per the approved audit schedule, the Auditor will actively participate on Audit teams who are responsible to evaluate compliance of Bruce Power's Management System with Operating License requirements, implementation of Bruce Power’s Management System, compliance with and/or implementation of industry codes and standards such as (but not limited to), CSA N286, CSA/ASME Pressure Boundary requirements, ISO 14001 and CSA N288.4/5.

The Auditor will also carry out assigned tasks and when faced with uncertainty, will seek instruction, advice, guidance and clarification as required, to meet the objectives of the assigned audits. They will also ensure the validity, objectivity and factual content of observations, and ensure reasonable conclusions are made based on the evidence.

This is a term position which may be for a period of up to 60 months, offers a competitive compensation package and is located on-site in Tiverton, Ontario.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining integrity of the observation results

  • Assist the Lead Auditor in the preparation and communication of audit results to Senior/Executive Leadership

  • Evaluate the completion and effectiveness of Corrective Action Plans

  • Participate in audit meetings as scheduled by the Lead Auditor

  • As required, provide business program support to the section by developing and revising procedures and/or audit schedules

  • Identify areas of concern and provide feedback to Audit section for inclusion and consideration in the development of audit plans in related areas

  • Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience:

  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of university

  • Over 6 years, up to and including 8 years’ experience

  • Requires practical experience in assessment activities which includes audits and self-assessments, to ensure effective assessments of nuclear generating facilities

  • Requires experience in the operational aspects of a nuclear generating facility, preferably in the areas of Operations, Maintenance, Nuclear Safety or Engineering

  • Requires understanding of Bruce Power’s Management System, to provide factual observations and conclusions for the Lead Auditor in support of audit results

  • Requires a good understanding of the Station Operating License, Operating Policies and Principles and Management System documentation
