Role summary: Manage the redesign and delivery of scalable digital learning experiences that drive adoption across the athenaFlex portfolio. This remote (US) role combines project management and hands-on eLearning development to modernize course content, multimedia, and learning technologies. This position is based in the United States as a remote role and reports to Portfolio Marketing.

Team summary: The team is focused on modernizing enablement materials, video assets, and the broader learning ecosystem for the athenaFlex product suite, starting with athenaIDX, an enterprise-level revenue cycle management (RCM) solution, designed for large hospitals, health systems, and billing services.

You will partner with athenaFlex subject matter experts and Portfolio Marketing to evaluate an existing cache of course content that is out of date and/or packaged inefficiently. The mission is to reimagine those materials into an integrated digital learning experience—streamlined courses, modular, clear, and compelling multimedia—that serves the future needs of internal employees and external customers.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital learning experiences and curricula for athenaFlex products

  • Collaborate with SMEs and Portfolio Marketing to align and scale learning content with our brand, product messaging, and user needs.

  • Manage project plans, timelines, and stakeholder communication.

  • Design, produce, and edit multimedia assets (video, audio, graphics).

  • Build and maintain eLearning modules using Articulate 360 and other tools.

  • Administer the LMS to publish and organize courses.

  • Integrate AI tools and automation to streamline content creation and access.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality assurance and accessibility reviews for learning assets.

  • Support content migration and governance on SharePoint and other repositories.

  • Assist with pilot programs and user acceptance testing for new learning technologies.

  • Maintain documentation of processes, templates, and content standards from SMEs who are close to retirement.

Expected Education & Experience:

  • 4–8 years of professional experience in instructional design, learning & development, or training program management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, Human Resources, related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with project management for learning initiatives.

  • Proven skills in digital learning design and eLearning development.

  • Hands-on experience with Articulate 360 and multimedia editing tools.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

  • Experience using AI tools to support content creation

  • Knowledge of SCORM/xAPI packaging and LMS administration

 

Expected Compensation

$93,000 - $157,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.  Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
