Job Summary

The Strategic Partnerships & Philanthropy team leads our corporate philanthropic investment portfolio, which includes cash grants from both the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation and Comcast Corporation, as well as select event sponsorships and in-kind support.

This newly created role of Associate Vice President, Strategic Partnerships plays a pivotal role in advancing Project UP’s vision and maximizing the impact of Comcast’s philanthropic investments. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Philanthropy, this leader translates enterprise and Project UP priorities into actionable plans, drives alignment across headquarters and field teams, and ensures the full portfolio operates as a cohesive, high-performing unit. The leader will be responsible for looking across the entire portfolio to identify opportunities to amplify impact and improve efficiencies through cross-team collaboration and coordination.

This role will strengthen integration across the portfolio, elevate storytelling around Project UP’s impact, and ensure that cross-cutting opportunities such as conference strategies, thought leadership, and partner activations are aligned to key business priorities and markets.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Strategic Partnerships and Philanthropy to assess and identify grant-making strategies, organizational priorities, and areas of largest impact. Translate priorities into actionable plans and manage execution of plans across HQ, Field, and Lift Zone team leaders.

  • Partner with executive leaders to anticipate growth areas, optimize the portfolio, and align investments to business priorities and impact.

  • Manage a team that is responsible for executing key initiatives and activations in Comcast’s priority markets.

  • Lead event activations & vendor management, including partner integration, market engagements, and budgeting. Ensure business leaders are engaged to ensure alignment to business objectives and growth.

  • Oversee cross‑cutting support for common work: conference/event strategy and execution, partner engagement, market activation, and key sponsorships. Drive efficiency across HQ, Lift Zones, and Field teams by enabling those teams to focus on unique and highest-value work.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Data & Insights to assess and communicate the outcomes of philanthropic investments – leveraging data and analytics to deepen understanding of impact, inform strategy, and enhance storytelling in partnership with internal data and technology teams.

  • Partner with the Portfolio leads and Communications team to translate impact outcomes into compelling narratives that demonstrate Comcast’s leadership in advancing digital opportunity & economic mobility. Develop & support thought leadership opportunities that promote our philanthropic impact and align with the needs and pace of the business.

  • Continuously optimize the Strategic Partnerships & Philanthropy team operating model by assessing gaps and building capabilities and infrastructure that enable teams to do their best work.

  • Support the enhancement of team culture, performance culture, and organizational effectiveness across the team.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years working in a CSR, social impact, or related function.

  • Experience leading a grant portfolio, developing a strategy, and managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to stand up shared services and operating mechanisms (governance, processes, tools) that scale and streamline execution across multiple teams and markets.

  • Must be skilled at working across teams and external stakeholders and finding paths to pursue common objectives.

  • Experience with event management and planning.

  • Experience in people management.

  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and develop creative solutions.

  • Must be in the Philadelphia Headquarters location 4 days a week (1 day/week may be remote).

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, to attend internal and partner conferences and events.

  • U.S. travel required (about 20-30%).

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
