Associate Project Manager - Platform Engineering

Sysco LABS’ enterprise technology is present in the end-to-end foodservice journey, enabling the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network and the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer.  

The Opportunity 

We are currently seeking an energetic Associate Project Manager to join our SRE, DevOps, and Performance Engineering teams. The ideal candidate should have a strong project management foundation with exposure to technical environments, enabling effective coordination between engineering and project delivery teams. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing delivery timelines and execution across SRE, DevOps, and Performance Testing teams 

  • Facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, and progress tracking with relevant stakeholders 

  • Maintaining project documentation, dashboards, and status reports to ensure clear visibility of progress, risks, and dependencies 

  • Driving continuous improvement through Agile and Scrum practices to enhance team efficiency, collaboration, and reliability. 

  • Identifying delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers, and proactively working with the team leads to resolve them, ensuring timely escalation when necessary 

  • Collaborating with engineering leads in planning, prioritizing, and tracking initiatives focused on reliability, automation, and performance optimization 

  • Working with onshore and offshore business and technical teams to ensure expected quality standards are maintained 

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for release management and production migrations, coordinating activities between Product, Engineering, SRE, DevOps, and Performance teams 

  • Supporting the establishment and continuous improvement of incident management and escalation processes to strengthen production system reliability 

 

Requirements 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (a Master's degree will be an added advantage) 

  • 2–3 years of experience in Agile project management, ideally within infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps environments 

  • A solid technical understanding of Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and performance testing will be an added advantage 

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is required; PMP certification will be an added advantage 

  • Must demonstrate the ability to identify risks, manage dependencies, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery 

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills 

  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
