Who we are looking for

The Associate Product Manager working on Web Framework is a hands-on, business-to-technology role integral to both the Charles River and State Street Alpha platforms. The candidate must have excellent technical skills, a strong ability to communicate, hands-on project management skills, and resource forecasting capabilities to properly plan and execute roadmaps across both internal platform teams and the products who consume the tools. This role will work side-by-side with Technical Team Leads, Senior Product Managers, Developers, and internal stakeholders to oversee the assignment, execution, and delivery of initiatives that enhance the CRIMS and Alpha platform.

 

This role will take projects from ideas to delivery. The Associate Product Manager will design features, write requirements, and work with engineers to build cross-cutting capabilities in a cloud native web environment. This position is vital in providing our product teams with a modern web framework that prioritizes UX, performance, and time to market.

 

The Associate Product Manager will work closely with other areas of the organization such as Architecture, UX, and Infrastructure, solidifying the application platform with a world-class user experience, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery satisfies their requirements. They may also work with vendors and third parties to procure services that enhance the platform’s capabilities.

 

The associate will assist senior PMs in managing their product backlogs, ensuring engineering teams are taking full advantage of their allotted capacity. They will also provide guidance and mentorship to other BAs within the Platform department on career development, performance, engagement, and professional development.

The team you will be joining is part of the Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS), a market leader in providing a comprehensive end-to-end investment management platform covering front, middle and back office. The Charles River IMS platform offers portfolio management, compliance, order and execution management, post-trade processing, data provisioning and management, performance measurement, as well as other key capabilities important to the investment lifecycle.

 

What you will be responsible for

  • Support the design, requirements, and execution of the CRIMS/Alpha Platform’s UI/UX strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers, UX designers, and DevOps to ensure consistent, high-quality user experiences and rapid iteration of web interfaces.
  • Gather requirements from internal & external parties (design, engineering, partners, vendors, etc.) and work with Product and Engineering leaders to prioritize and deliver based on company objectives and strategies.
  • Triage, groom, and plan sprints for the UI initiatives using agile methodologies
  • Thoroughly understand cloud native services and architecture to propose, specify, and plan the implementation, integration, and launch of platform systems and services.
  • Represent the application platform from a product standpoint to understand priorities, available resources, and timelines.
  • Be able to and willing to present to a wider internal & external audience for reviews and decision making.
  • Ensure the delivery, documentation, and training of the initiative’s deliverables.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and executives from requirements to delivery.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis for software systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent, and/or other work experience in a technical setting. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in Financial Services is preferred.
  • Experience building web and cross-platform applications.
  • Experience working with Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
  • Strong UI/UX skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong contributor with high motivation, with the ability to take initiative, set priorities, and perform tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Experience working with remote teams.
