Associate Product Manager

The Associate Product Manager will lead the development, oversight, and performance tracking of assigned product lines. They will be responsible for supporting product design and execution throughout all stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment across multiple distribution channels. This role requires deep product expertise and a proven track record of managing one or more product lines independently.

Position Responsibilities:

Product Development & Management

  • Handles a specific product line(s) by crafting new products, suggesting improvements, and addressing blocking issues

  • Responsible for delivering on product projects and enhancements by working closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. Pricing, Marketing, Claims, Underwriting, Finance, Systems)

  • Defines, develops, and approves product build suitable for both targeted client needs and business goals

  • Handle end-to-end product initiatives, including the development of new products and improvements to the existing portfolio

  • Ensure effective and timely resolution of product problems, identifying where appropriate process/service improvements are needed

  • Support the annual business planning process, including identifying key opportunities to grow the business across all channels

  • Supervise key financial drivers relative to targets and identify trends

  • Deliver product-specific training

Marketing

  • Responsible for regular evaluation of existing product sales & marketing material to ensure they remain effective and up to date

  • Encouraged to identify and champion marketing-related sales opportunities, ensuring they align with Affinity and strategies of interested parties

Cross-Functional Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in assigned product categories to other departments or projects as requested

  • Negotiate support area resources as required

  • Provide second-level support for claims and service teams to resolve issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of dynamic financial services experience with 1-2 years of product management experience

  • Knowledge of the product line and goals of the department

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Knowledge and application of competitive information

  • Solid presentation skills to cross-functional teams

  • Excellent interpersonal and priority-setting skills

  • Good project management skills and well-developed negotiation skills

  • Excellent presentation skills, including PowerPoint, graphs, charts, etc.

  • Ability to influence without authority

Working Arrangement

Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between

$68,775.00 CAD - $114,625.00 CAD
