Job Description

Business Unit:

LGT US is dedicated to delivering wealth management services to US-connected clients. Operating within a culture of transparency, regulatory rigour, and client-first ethos, the team provides discretionary and advisory investment solutions across multi-asset classes.

The Portfolio Management Team is responsible for the design, execution, and oversight of model portfolios tailored to US clients. The team manages over 40 models across GBP, USD, and EUR, incorporating various risk ratings and responsible investment strategies. And also offer bespoke and advisory solutions. Key functions include portfolio implementation, FX and cash management, performance monitoring, and proposition development. The team blends top-down macro analysis with bottom-up stock selection, maintaining a high conviction approach to portfolio construction.

Brief Role Objective:

The Associate Portfolio Analyst will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the US Portfolio Management team. Working closely with senior portfolio managers, the role will ensure the accurate and timely execution of cash management, FX transactions, and model portfolio updates across client accounts. The successful candidate will help maintain the smooth running of the team’s activities, contribute to the production of high-quality reporting materials, and uphold the integrity of portfolio data across multiple systems and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily operations of the portfolio management team, including:
    • Raising client cash and monitoring cash positions.
    • Aggregated dealing (twice weekly).
    • Placing and monitoring FX orders on a daily basis.
    • Managing FX overdrafts resulting from trades, firm fees, or client withdrawals.
    • Assisting with the implementation of model changes across client portfolios (custodied at LGT London, LGT Jersey, RBC, Corporation of Lloyds, and Morningstar).
  • Provide support on bespoke investment proposals and related implementations for senior portfolio managers.
  • Assist with monthly and periodic team administrative tasks, including:
    • Production of performance reports used in external marketing materials.
    • Updating and maintaining portfolio models on Bloomberg and FactSet.
    • Using FactSet Portfolio Analytics to update and manage drifted-weight models.
  • Liaise with internal teams (Operations, Compliance, Dealing, Client Services) to ensure smooth execution and settlement of trades and instructions.
  • Contribute to data integrity across systems and models.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of team operational processes and internal and external reporting standards for the team.

Requirements

Key Skills, Technical Requirements and Other Attributes:

Required:

  • RDR Level 4 qualification (or equivalent UK certification).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced level desirable).

Desirable:

  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in a financial services, investment management, or wealth management environment.
  • Familiarity with front- and middle-office processes, including trade execution, portfolio monitoring, and cash management.
  • Experience using Bloomberg and FactSet (on desk training will be provided, if required).
  • Experience using the Figaro trading system (on desk training will be provided, if required).
  • Understanding of model portfolio management and related operational workflows.
  • Previous exposure to multi-asset portfolios or discretionary investment management.
