ABOUT THE ROLE
The Associate Buyer for Parts plays a critical role in supporting the procurement process within the Aftermarket Parts group. This position is responsible for assisting with all sourcing, ordering, returns and managing inventory for parts and components needed. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing parts, materials, and components as required by the organization
- Evaluate vendor quotes and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to ensure optimal value for the company
- Review purchase requisitions and ensure accuracy and completeness before processing orders
- Ability to review Engineering Drawings
- Track and monitor orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies or delays with suppliers
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier information in the procurement system
- Collaborate with sales, production, and warehouse teams to identify parts needs as well as forecast demand
- Assist in resolving invoice issues and coordinating returns or exchanges for defective or incorrect parts
- Stay informed about market trends, new products, and alternative suppliers to support cost-saving initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma (required) and minimum 1 year of experience in related field
- Associate Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management is an advantage
- Strong communication skills: both written and verbal
- Experience with negotiation situations a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Purchasing and Inventory Management Software preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities while working on tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail a must
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- No Travel Required
- Standard start time: 6:00am (negotiable from 5:00am-6:30am)
- Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, (i.e. safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, etc.)
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$75,000 - $90,000/annual salary + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
