The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 93,600.00 USD - 122,850.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. As the Associate Sales Manager for Grocery West, you’ll be a key driver of growth across the Central and Western U.S., leading strategic customer relationships with top accounts including UNFI Conventional, Associated Wholesale Grocery, HyVee, ALDI, LIDL, and other national distributors and wholesalers.
In this dynamic role, you’ll manage customer and broker partnerships, applying your expertise in assortment, merchandising, and promotional strategy to unlock new opportunities and expand our footprint. You’ll also play a pivotal role in identifying and onboarding new business within the grocery channel—both directly and through distributor networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build, prioritize and manage multiple objectives, including top line sales, distribution, trade spend, promotional effectiveness, merchandising, and customer engagement
Translate objectives for a portfolio of brands into key priorities for broker partners and can hold self and others accountable for results
Collaborate and build a strong sense of teamwork externally with broker partners and customers by providing strong direction, guidance, follow up and feedback
Build rapid, strong relationships based on credibility and trust across multiple layers of management; elevate presence within customer’s hierarchy
Manage trade system including spending within trade budget, assessing plan for effectiveness, and making appropriate adjustments to plans and system entries in Exceedra
Deeply understand the strategic purpose of our brands as well as our customers’ strategies to bridge and drive long term profitable growth for both parties
Be the “voice of retailer” for planning new product launches and other ad hoc business developments as needed as well as drive a thoughtful and reliable SKU level forecast along with Finance and Operations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree required and 5+ years Sales experience in or a combination of sales, account management or broker management. SuperValu/UNFI experience is preferred.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Experience with broker management strongly preferred
General Management mindset; proven ownership approach to business
Strong work ethic and ability to excel in remote sales environment
A strategic thinker, proactive diplomatic problem solver and a detail-oriented tactician
Stamina, character, sense of humor, proactive approach, and work ethic appropriate for a fast-paced, team-oriented, growth company
Proven track record of delivering consistent, positive business results
Ability to manage budgets and overall trade management including trade system entries (ex. Exceedra)
Excellent effective communication / collaboration, presentation skills and a colorful storyteller
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines
Ability to work independently to identify business needs and opportunities to help grow sales
Curious and analytical mindset; ability to independently assess data, integrate into selling stories and leverage it to grow our business
Experience in analyzing syndicated data (ex. Nielsen)
Strong technical skills: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Web and other required computer applications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Position is Full-Time, regular business hours, Monday-Friday
This is a remote, home office-based position. The ideal candidate will resite in or near Minneapolis, MN, or elsewhere in the Midwest region with convenient access to a major airport to attend customer meetings
