Associate Legal Specialist, Legal Operations

We are looking for an Associate Legal Specialist, Legal Operations to join our Legal team in Chicago, Illinois.

As the Associate Legal Specialist, Legal Operations, reporting to the VP & Chief Counsel, you will manage vendor onboarding, budgeting, and invoice processing through Legal Tracker, while supporting financial reporting and compliance with billing guidelines. You’ll help track departmental KPIs, assist with budget planning, and contribute to process improvements through data analysis and legal tech tools. This role plays a key part in streamlining operations and enabling informed decision-making across the Legal & Government Affairs team.

What you'll do in this role:

Vendor Coordination and Financial Management:

  • Provide administrative management of Legal Tracker for matter creation, vendor and provider onboarding, budgeting, and invoice support.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external legal service providers and vendors to enhance relationship management and facilitate cost-effective, efficient service delivery.

  • Monitor provider and vendor compliance with billing guidelines and financial arrangements during invoice processing.

  • Support annual relationship review and engagement processes for Conagra Legal Network.

  • Assist the General Counsel and the Legal Operations team in preparing and managing the annual budget for the Legal & Government Affairs function.  Support periodic financial and budget reporting processes.

Data Management & Analysis:

  • Support identification and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assist Legal & Government Affairs leadership team in evaluating department performance. 

  • Partner with internal teams to build and maintain tracking reports, mechanisms, and dashboards to drive data-informed decision making, including aggregating and validating data from various sources.

  • Leverage data to help identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.

Process and Project Management:

  • Leverage data to help identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.

  • Assist in developing and implementing legal department tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as supporting design, rollout, and training for new systems.

  • Develop and implement internal process guidelines, templates, and workflows.

Other:

  • Provide periodic support for department processes, including Service of Process routing and tracking.

  • Maintain awareness of industry best practices in for legal operations. Make recommendations, where appropriate.

  • Other support activities as directed by manager.

Position Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional experience required

  • 2+ years of experience with contracts, contracts administration, financial analysis and budgeting, and/or legal operations

  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Forms, Word, PowerPoint, and Power Automate; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or legal tech platforms such as Legal Tracker is a plus.

  • Analytical and strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills.

  • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), and professional demeanor and presentation, including active listening and ability to convey information clearly.

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and effectively prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain confidentiality.

You will typically be in the office Monday - Wednesday and remotely Thursdays and Fridays.

Compensation: 

Pay Range:$59,000-$78,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
