PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $37.60-$45.87 hourly. The full Pay Range is $29.24-$54.23 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:


As an Associate Financial Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping the financial future of BECU. You’ll use your analytical skills and curiosity to help leaders make data-driven decisions, improve financial processes, and support long-term organizational goals. Your insights and recommendations will directly impact how we plan, forecast, and optimize resources across the credit union—giving you the opportunity to grow your expertise in financial modeling, reporting, and strategic analysis.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Drive Financial Insights: Prepare, analyze, and interpret monthly and quarterly financial reports to help business divisions understand performance and make informed decisions.
  • Support Planning and Forecasting: Contribute to the development of BECU’s annual financial plan and periodic forecasts by ensuring accuracy, clarity, and actionable insights in all reporting.
  • Analyze and Improve: Perform variance analysis across expenses, projects, and staffing. Identify trends, explain deviations, and highlight opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Partner and Collaborate: Work closely with Finance Business Partners, department leaders, and cross-functional teams to provide consulting support and strengthen financial alignment across divisions.
  • Create Executive-Level Deliverables: Help prepare planning and forecast materials for senior leadership and the Board of Directors, ensuring data integrity and clear storytelling through numbers.
  • Develop Technical Expertise: Build proficiency in systems like PeopleSoft and OneStream, while maintaining a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Special Projects: Engage in cross-divisional initiatives, ad-hoc analyses, and financial forecasts that deepen your understanding of the organization’s strategy and financial health.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal teams, ensuring transparency and collaboration in achieving credit union goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 1 year of related experience in a financial institution and/or financial analyst experience including budgeting/forecasting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • BECU intern experience preferred.
  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office and flow-charting), with the ability to learn new software.
  • Basic understanding of planning software such as OneStream.
  • Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgement in problem solving.
  • Ability to work with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
