Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice as directed/requested, mainly advising for all aspects related to clinical trials in terms of legal questions, e.g. contracts with investigators and hospitals
Liaise with the Clinical Development Department and Global Strategic Sourcing Department to discuss all legal matters relating to a clinical trial
Advise on balancing risk and benefit when conducting clinical trials in different legislation (e.g. different damage claims coverage regulation etc);
Draft, negotiate and finalize various agreements, e.g. Clinical Trial Agreements from Phase I to IV, MSAs and Service Agreements with service providers as well as all types of documents within the clinical development department, e.g. ICFs, Power of Attorneys, internal policies where legal input is required;
Monitoring and tracking all relevant clinical regulation worldwide;
Collaborate with team of global and regional attorneys and other internal professionals engaged in the above.
Key Skills
Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Strong ability and motivation to develop problem solving strategies and execute on them
Strong ability to conduct risk assessments pertaining to legal aspects in clinical trials
Strong ability to act efficiently in different cultural environments
Fluent in English; German and French would be an advantage
Computer literacy with knowledge of applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word
Educational Qualifications
Master of Law, preferably with Bar Admission (Swiss, EU)
Job Experience
Minimum of 5 to 8 years post-qualified experience in the pharmaceutical industry, especially in the clinical development field
Experience in negotiating complex contracts with services providers, e.g., CROs within the clinical development department
Experience in negotiating clinical trial agreements with institutions/investigators globally
In-dept knowledge about GxP framework, ICH guidelines and Declaration of Helsinki
In-dept knowledge about data protection regulation globally
In-dept knowledge about relevant compliance matters, e.g. kick-back laws etc.
Understanding of medicinal treatments
Must be eligible to work in given location (Citizen or appropriate Visa holder).
