Job Purpose

The Global Process Owner for Payroll – Workday Solutions is responsible for the strategic design, governance, and continuous improvement of global payroll processes for Workday Payroll countries (US, Canada, UK). This strategic role ensures compliance, drives innovation, and delivers measurable business outcomes by harmonizing processes, implementing robust controls, and fostering a culture of innovation and learning across critical GSK locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-Develop and maintain a forward-looking strategy for global payroll processes, ensuring alignment with GSK's digital transformation and operational excellence goals.
  • Design, implement, and lead governance frameworks to ensure quality, resolve escalations, and drive accountability with associated vendors.
  • Act as a strategic partner for internal stakeholders (Payroll, HR, Legal, HR Risk, Workday Product Owners) and external vendors, ensuring seamless collaboration and process alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley and GDPR, and integration with GSK-wide initiatives such as SAP S/4HANA upgrades. • Provide expert advice and guidance on payroll best practices, vendor management, and process optimization.
  • Champion employee experience by delivering accurate, on-time, and seamless payroll outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of learning, adaptability, and innovation within the payroll function.
  • Lead initiatives with a focus on automation, digital integration, and continuous improvement leveraging Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Drive standardization, efficiency, in payroll processes across Workday Payroll countries (US, Canada, UK).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead local payroll transformation projects, drive strategic decision-making, and influence at senior levels.
  • Proven experience in payroll management, including in-sourced Workday Payroll systems (essential) and external vendors.
  • Expertise in global payroll processes and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience leveraging Lean/Six Sigma, Agile methodologies to drive process improvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proficiency in payroll software and reporting tools.

Preferred Attributes

  • Certification in payroll management or relevant discipline.
  • Experience in contributing to digital transformation, automation, and change management initiatives, with a focus on fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and payroll software systems.
  • Deep understanding of global compliance frameworks, including Sarbanes Oxley, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
