Associate Director, Data and Business Intelligence | McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University

The Associate Director, Data and Business Intelligence, Career Center, McDonough School of Business is responsible for the administration of McDonough Career Center knowledge systems, data, training, and user support. This role primarily supports students and alumni in the programs serviced by the McDonough Career Center, with occasional collaboration with other departments in the McDonough School of Business.

We will rely on this team member to:

  • Manage the mission-critical collection, organization, analysis, management, and reporting of MBA career center data; ensuring that a common system, data, and documentation standards are adhered to and data integrity is upheld.
  • Provide regular updates on key student career engagement and success metrics.
  • Responsible for annual Career Services and Employer Alliance (CSEA) official employment data reporting on behalf of the McDonough School of Business.
  • Ensure that data management practices are logical, streamlined, and user-friendly.
  • Develop, customize, test, and maintain primary internal data platforms, including McDonough CareerView and Excel-based data.
  • Bridge to other internal business units to exchange and share data records, sometimes navigating multiple and incongruent data sources and storage methods, which requires an integrative mindset.
  • Contribute to effective data stewardship and knowledge development at the McDonough School of Business (MSB) and the University as a whole.
  • Manage external technology relationships and platforms; manage vendor relationships and the configuration of auxiliary resources, including all interoperability concerns, as well as assist with vendor contracts.
  • Develop methods to optimize the use of information assets; analyze data and make recommendations regarding its strategic and operational application.
  • Train and support all users on the systems.
  • Supervise and manage team of 5-7 undergraduate student workers, contribute to their professional development, and enable them to be successful Career Center team members.
     

Work Interactions

The Associate Director reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations, and works closely with the Associate Dean and Managing Director, Career Services, the Assistant Dean, McDonough Career Center – MBA, and the Assistant Dean, McDonough Career Center – Graduate and Executive degree programs.

This position interacts regularly

  • with other McDonough School of Business departments cross-functionally and at all levels
  • with MBA students and alumni
  • with companies
  • with representatives in other universities
  • with technical vendors.

This role directly contributes to the University’s mission by leveraging data analytics and business intelligence to enhance the career center’s effectiveness and goal to obtain operational excellence. Through data collection and analysis, the position provides critical insights that inform strategic decisions about career programming and employer partnerships, directly supporting McDonough’s commitment to excellence in business education.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 2-4 years of experience managing data, maintaining third-party vendor systems, supporting system users, and producing critical reports.

  • Salesforce.com Certified Developer desirable. complex analytical skills; professionalism; detail-oriented, accurate, thorough, and logical as supported by management and user references.

Preferred qualifications

  • Statistical modeling experience.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or other disciplines that engendered an understanding of technology systems.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
