Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Associate Director – Contracts & Business Management - Government Programs to join our Aerostructures Contracts team. This role supports a portfolio of high-visibility U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy programs, primarily executed from Riverside, CA and Jacksonville, FL, with leadership based in Chula Vista, CA.

As the Associate Director, you will lead a small, high-performing team responsible for the pursuit, negotiation, and management of complex government contracts spanning the design and production of aircraft, missile, and naval components. You’ll serve as a trusted business advisor to program leadership, provide strategic guidance to ensure compliant and competitive contracting outcomes, and act as the primary interface with government customers on all contractual matters.

This position plays a critical role in shaping business strategy, overseeing proposal development, presenting data and recommendations to senior leadership, and ensuring contracts are effectively administered through closeout.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of contracts professionals in expanding Government contracts knowledge and overall business acumen to improve the financial position of the business.
  • Manage pre-award functions from receipt of solicitation, proposal development, negotiations, and final contract review/signature.
  • Draft, analyze, and negotiate statements of work, terms and conditions, data requirements, etc. to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Manage existing contracts to ensure compliance to contract terms, identify and seek adjustment for out-of-scope changes and to mitigate risk.
  • Operate collaboratively within the value stream leadership team of program managers, engineers, finance, supply chain, and operations to support program management and strategy and execution reviews to drive customer focused solutions.
  • Provide flow down and guidance to the program team on the requirements and terms within the contract.
  • Lead and/or support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance department and organizational performance and effectiveness.
  • Coach, guide and mentor and review work products to ensure output is of quality and in accordance with company policy and business objectives.
  • Communicate and make presentations to senior level leadership.
  • Travel up to 20% domestically.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience negotiating and administering Department of Defense (DoD) contracts with FAR/DFARS experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Business Acumen
  • Experience leading a team, with ability to foster teamwork and trust
  • Manufacturing/production experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Graduate degree
  • Capable of multi-tasking and handling several assignments simultaneously

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
