What is the opportunity?

Funding and Liquidity team is responsible for supporting Central Funding Group that has trading desks globally for Prime Brokerage, Canadian Mortgage Investment Group and Repo and Sec Lending business. The group is responsible for building and maintaining applications used to support these businesses. The user groups are Front Office Trading Desks, Middle office BCS teams and Back Office/Settlements team.

The role will be responsible for acting as the product owner and business analyst who will be sitting close to trading desks in Toronto and work with CFG business management with new application build outs, enhancements, regulatory work, reporting, audits etc. The role is responsible for conducting functional and technical requirement analysis, Gap analysis, delivery management by working closely with various internal cross-functional teams to understand and document the business requirements to deliver the required solutions.

Additional responsibilities include support of applications on a day-to-day basis and supporting user queries and issues.

What will you do?

  • Act as the LEAD BA across the subset of applications as a primary point of contact for requirement intake, prioritization, and analysis and creating specifications.

  • Data analysis and requirement development for ongoing user requests, review analysis done across the BA team, and provide best practices and standards.

  • Contribute to the design and solution development of the target state aligned to the overall strategy.

  • Do PoC and demo’s to end users to showcase the full solution and get the agreement on the design and architecture.

  • Functional documentation, training, and information sharing with the team members.

  • Work in an Agile Scrum team to incrementally deliver solutions for consumers.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 10+ Years of Capital Markets Operations Business Analyst experience

  • Comprehensive Trading, Settlements experience globally with deep knowledge of post-trade lifecycle processes & key functions across Capital Market asset-classes

  • Expertise across Settlement, Clearing, Reconciliations functions, workflows & systems

  • Strong understanding of CCP and Central Securities Depository  (CSD) functions in the context of Capital Markets clearing and settlement

  • Proven ability to manage processes and/or business & technology stakeholders across End-to-End Capital Market Journeys & Transformational Change

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in Finance, Engineering, Science or Math desirable

  • Good working knowledge of Capital Markets operational functions and processes, particularly in the area of Settlements and Clearing.

  • Detailed understanding of the fundamentals of Capital Markets trading and the transaction lifecycle

  • Strong knowledge of supporting systems used within Operations

  • Detailed understanding of Capital Markets organizational structure (front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, BCS, regulatory/compliance, etc.)

  • Familiarity with regional differences in operational processing within RBC Capital Markets.

  • Skillful in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team

  • Ability to prioritize, plan and execute work to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical skills - Ability to identify issues and suggest solutions

  • Detail oriented

  • Capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across the enterprise

Nice-to-have

  • Financial service-focused certifications

  • Repo and Securities Lending experience

  • Regulatory trade and transaction reporting experience
