About the role:
The Associate Database Administrator will provide technical expertise in designing, managing, and administering databases in cloud environments (AWS & Azure) to meet evolving organizational needs. You will play a key role in modernization initiatives, migrating databases to open-source and cloud platforms, and driving automation to enhance provisioning and operations of all types of datastores.
What you'll do:
Ensure 24x7 availability and optimal performance of critical database systems hosted both on-premises and across multiple cloud platforms.
Implement, maintain, and enforce industry-standard processes and policies within QA, DEV, and Production environments.
Collaborate in the design and implementation process with DBAs, Application Development, and other technical teams to deliver robust solutions.
Consistently meet and exceed SLA/OLA targets, aligning to change management process.
Support the tactical and strategic direction for the organization’s database infrastructure.
Maintain service levels and departmental goals for timely problem resolution.
Oversee effective patch and upgrade management for all database systems.
Work closely with Cloud and Data Center Management teams to ensure consistency and best practices across departments.
What you'll need :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in database operations.
Proven expertise in building and managing databases, including SQL Server, SQL Managed Instance (SQLMI), and AWS RDS (Postgres).
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, GIT, Terraform, AWS DMS, AWS Lambda, Azure Resource Manager, and related technologies is highly desirable.
Solid understanding and practical experience in implementing Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) architectures.
Prior experience in automation, performance tuning, and optimization of database systems.
Strong judgment, decisive problem-solving abilities, and a high sense of responsibility and accountability.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with others.
Proven capability to envision and implement automation for provisioning and database administration tasks.
Knowledge on any other NoSQL DB management is preferred
