Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Corporate Access Associate to join our team based out of New York/HQ at 1 Vanderbilt. Candidates should have an understanding of financial markets, thrive working within a strong team and be a self-starter. The position will focus on execution of the Financials / Industrials / Energy sectors and work on Conferences where needed.
The Associate Sales & Trading is responsible for serving as support for the US Rates Trading Division of TD Securities (USA) LLC. This position will support the US Rates desk in New York by inputting trades (post execution), researching and resolving trade discrepancies, amend trades (per trader approval), support the gathering of documentation for new accounts group, act as a liaison between front, back and middle offices, amongst a variety of other responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute all stages of conference meeting allocation working with both the corporate and investing clients.
Internally partnering with Sales & Trading, Research, and Banking/ECM.
Externally partnering with buyside clients and corporate clients (including investor relations professionals and C-suite as well as Buy-Side Broker Liaisons).
Work independently while managing multiple live events/projects.
Handle Analyst Marketing in your respective sectors
Understand and execute firm prioritization strategy for driving revenue via meeting allocations, work directly with sales/sales trading to monetize.
Develop and maintain a network of contacts within the space that includes executives, analysts as well as buy-side counterparts.
Multi-task within a fast-paced and dynamic environment while focusing on details.
Learn how to problem solve while demonstrating leadership with communication across all stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyst market intelligence, investor feedback and industry trends to enhance the investor experience.
Mentor and guide team members as needed/applicable; foster a collaborative group dynamic.
The role will require ownership over all aspects of the conference allocation process including:
Firming up all specifics/restrictions with internal/external clients for all of the upcoming meetings
Launching the event and updating the internal systems
Building out the schedule (managing situations for high and low demand schedules)
Working through logistics involved virtually or in person days.
Depth & Scope:
Gathers, researches information and analyzes the market
Executes detailed data analysis and valuation
Provides in-depth market reports and expert recommendations
Identifies issues affecting clients and provides recommendations to remedy
Develops deep client relationships and presents new ideas to clients
Executes trades and secures deals with new clients
Keeps market-making traders informed of relevant issues with their customers and products
Obtains market prices from market-making traders and executes the trade
Ensures all trades are confirmed with the broker/dealer
Inputs trades (post execution), and Verifies transactions meet company policies and followed approved guidelines
Researches and resolves trade discrepancies
Confirms trade blotters against trades booked in systems
Coordinates with back office on all failed trade status and communicates to front office
Coordinates with back office on position breaks and reports to the front office
Assists traders in mark-to-market process
Coordinates trade reconciliation discrepancy resolution with back office
Looks for ways to improve work flow efficiencies
Reads and understands the Trading Supervision Standard
Demonstrates governance, control and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree, or specialized training / equivalent work experience
3+ Years of related experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, establishes priorities, and possesses strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
Management experience and solid computer skills a must
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field; strong understanding of the financial markets
~3-4+ years in a corporate access, investor relations or related positions in the financial services industry
SIE, 7, 63 exams strongly preferred
Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and market research
Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication, attention to detail and multi-tasking capability
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Zoom and MS Teams as well as ability to quickly learn applications specific to our team
Comfortable working with people at all organizational levels, as well as a high-pressure environment
Ability to understand business strategies and partner across divisions
Strong team player with a willingness to pivot across multiple projects and teams, adaptable with a can-do attitude.
