Assistant Product Manager - Trade Reporting Operations

Join the Risk and Regulatory Intelligence Crew within CBA’s Global Markets domain. The Crew plays a critical role in strengthening market integrity and ensuring compliance across our Global Markets, Commodities and Treasury business. Our purpose is to lead the transformation of post-trade, risk, and regulatory reporting capabilities by delivering scalable, auditable platforms that reduce regulatory risk, operational risk, enhance transparency, and meet global regulatory obligations.

Do the work that matters:
As an Assistant Product Manager, you will be working in the Regulatory Reporting squad to manage and continuously improve the regulatory reporting in alignment with global OTC Derivative Reporting regulations, including ASIC, CFTC, MiFID, ESMA, SFTR and others.

Your focus will be on creating customer and business value through a product-led approach—ensuring the squad delivers accurate, timely, and compliant reporting while driving enhancements that improve operational resilience and customer outcomes. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our regulatory reporting capability, balancing regulatory obligations with innovation to support the Crew’s mission of maintaining market integrity and transparency.

Specifically you will:

  • Analyse regulatory reporting breakpoints to ensure that the defect remediation process is adhered to, including end-to-end management of risk.
  • Triage regulatory reporting enquiries, responding and resolving simple product enquiries where required.
  • Stay abreast of the regulatory environment in which the crew operates and support the execution of regulatory changes where required.
  • Support operational risk incidents and issue management relating to the regulatory reporting, including owning and executing controls.
  • Support regulatory change to continuously improve the product offering and processes to enhance customer outcomes.
  • Develop technical customer, industry and domain subject matter knowledge to support the development and enhancement of product offerings, creating compelling customer propositions that meet and exceed customer needs.
  • Liaise and respond to various internal and external stakeholders to ensure product standards are upheld and regulatory breaks are managed.
  • Draft and co-ordinate internal communications and training materials to uplift product knowledge and capability.

About You / Qualifications
Essential:

  • Experience working with G20 OTC regulatory reporting regimes (ASIC, CFTC, MiFID, SFTR, MAS, ESMA, FCA)
  • Experience in agile squads, including defining product requirements, identifying customer value and backlog management.
  • Proven stakeholder management: working across business units, technology teams, and internal risk teams; comfortable making trade-off decisions and resolving escalations.
  • Strong communication, analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate in a regulated financial markets environment and maintain awareness of operational risk and controls.
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for managing requirements and documentation.
     

Desired:

  • Experience within global markets technology utilized for position and risk capture (Murex and Wallstreet systems) will be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of OTC derivative products, including their lifecycle, booking processes, and structural characteristics
  • Experience with regulatory change management, including implementing regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions
  • Proficiency in tools like SQL, Python, or Power BI for analysing reporting data and identifying trends or anomalies.
  • Knowledge of operational risk frameworks and control testing methodologies.
