In terms of personal development, this position polishes your ability to deliver results through internal and external stakeholders, which in this case are varied and complex through networking and interaction with Copenhagen as well as local/regional/global vendors.

Key Responsibilities

What this position involves:

  • Managing procurement projects within supply chain, warehouse, customs brokering and cold chain etc. within Great China Area, to ensure alignment between costs, commercial needs and operational execution.

  • Lead Source to Contract processes for responsible category, including pricing benchmarking, cost and payment terms negotiation, drafting and signing of contract, etc.

  • Work closely with different functions of stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into procurement strategies.

  • Being accountable for integrating Contract Management frameworks to help ensure cost leadership, compliance and best in class supplier performance.

  • Performing supplier market analysis and organizing market intelligence for spending within specific sub-regions, and benchmarking Maersk cost competition and ensuring cost leadership.

  • Responsible for supplier relationship management, building strong relations with the vendors to drive value through the supply chain

  • Some travel must be expected

We are looking for an Assistant Procurement Manager responsible for procurement and contract management activities covering GCA, including Hongkong.

Ensure that every dollar spent is spent professionally. This is achieved by reducing operating expenses and driving a saving mindset by applying procurement capabilities and tools. The function aims to attain a competitive asset base for the future that is fully operational, at cost, on time.

The person will be responsible for driving key procurement projects forward and will be an integral part of the team and its ability to deliver on our ambitious goals.


Ideal candidate may have experience in below categories:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Logistics, specifically Warehousing, Cold Chain, Intermodal and Supply chain management

  • At least 2 years’ experience within Procurement is preferred

  • A Degree in Business/Supply Chain Management or a related field

  • Experience in logistics services related roles is a strong plus

  • Experience within Warehousing, Distribution and Cold Chain would be an advantage.

  • Ability to reduce cost and optimize vendors’ performance – working within a total value mindset

  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders efficiently

  • A high amount of drive and energy

  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Language skills: Proficient in English. Command of Mandarin and Cantonese is the prerequisite for this role.
