[What the role is]
To administer the Residential Property Act 1976 to regulate foreign ownership of restricted residential property in Singapore. Main role involves operational aspects pertaining to the day to day running and operations of the Land Dealings Approval Unit.
[What you will be working on]
- Assessing, managing, and evaluating cases
- Responding to enquiries from members of the public, foreign persons, and lawyers
- Providing support for projects
- To review policies, prepare policy submission and make policy recommendations to ensure they are up to date and relevant
- To conduct enforcement work to ensure compliance with legislation and conditions
- Carry out enforcement checks on individuals/entities
- Conduct data analysis to detect breaches
- Collation of statistics
- Enhancement of LDAU’s operations system
- Review and verify data in the system
- Manage and enhance LDAU’s enforcement portal

- Good command of the English language (both written and spoken)
- Able to work with highly confidential and sensitive information

- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with members of the public
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Good interpersonal, writing and communication skills
- Good presentation and public speaking skills
- Experience performing and supporting public service policy conceptualisation, formulation and implementation work would be an advantage
- Candidate with legal background and/ or experience supporting lawyers and/ or in-house legal counsel in a law firm, a public agency or a company’s legal department in rendering legal advice would be an advantage
- Experience in public or regulatory agencies’ enforcement and/ or compliance work would be an advantage
- Some knowledge of general conveyancing work and processes, and the sale and purchase of property transactions would be helpful
