Job Description:
This role primarily focuses on supporting financial, management and group reporting for Sun Life’s Asia Asset Management business. The main responsibilities include the following:
- Perform daily finance operations (such as expense tracking, expense approvals, journal entries posting, payments processing etc.), reconciliations, and period-end reporting in accordance with the reporting timeline set by Asia Finance teams.
- Prepare reporting schedules for Sun Life Group’s consolidation
- Support invoicing and monitoring of settlements of intercompany related services
- Execute the relevant internal control activities (e.g. prepare account substantiation work and validate disbursement requests)
- Support operating expense monitoring process (including accruals, settlement and utilization of budget)
- Liaise with external auditors or tax advisors for the annual audit and tax filings.
- Support ad hoc management reporting and development of new initiatives which may require technical accounting research
- Coordinate with Regional Office Finance and other relevant functions to deliver the aforementioned objectives
Major Accountabilities

Specialized knowledge, Education and Experience
- Solid accounting and financial reporting knowledge
- Preferable to have knowledge about the operations of accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion)
- Computer skills particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Capable of multitasking and working in cultural environment
- University graduate in in Finance, Accounting and Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Min. 5 years of experience in financial services industry preferably in asset and wealth management sector
- Qualified CPA is a must.
- Investment accounting experience is an advantage.
